Hike Ecology Trail

Ecology Trail in the Summer, Santa Clarita
©Dianne Erskine-Hellrige
Length: 1.5 miles round trip
Difficulty: Easy with a few steep and slippery steps
Description: This lovely, easy trail winds through the chaparral and in wet years is filled with wildflowers.
In the winter, especially after a rain, there may be a bit of water in a several small drainage canyons. These do
not run year round. Animals seen in the area include Grey Fox, Deer and squirrels. This is a pleasant walk to take
with seniors and children, especially if the steeper, upper portion of the trail is avoided. There are several benches
in the shade which make pleasant stopping points, comfortable areas to read or just reflect.
