Bouquet Canyon Trail

Location:
Runs from Newhall Ranch Road at McBean Parkway in Saugus to Bouquet Canyon Road at the Bouquet Creek Bridge in Saugus along the north side of Newhall Ranch Road.

Distance:
about 1 mile

At-Grade Crossings:
Bouquet Canyon Road (east end), Hillsbourough Road, Grandview Road, McBean Parkway (west end)

Future Plans:
This trail was to extend all the way up Bouquet Creek but NIMBY's did not want it. That is why this trail is so short.

Chuck Pontius Commuter Rail Trail

Location:
Runs east-west along the south side of Soledad Canyon Road from Camp Plenty Road (Jct. Santa Clara River Trail) to Golden Triangle Road, then along the north side of Soledad Canyon Road to Commuter Way, then along Commuter Way to the Santa Clarita Metrolink Station. Distance:
3.5 miles

At-Grade Intersections:
Rainbow Glen Drive, Ruether Avenue, Soledad Canyon Road/Golden Triangle Road, Commuter Way

Facilities along Route:
Parking is available at the Santa Clara River Trail junction. Bicycle Lockers are available at the Santa Clarita Metrolink Station. Water is available at the Santa Clara River Trail junction.

San Francisquito Creek Trail

Location:
Runs north-south along the east bank of San Francisquito Creek from Ave Scott to Copper Hill Dr

Distance:
about 2.5 miles

Santa Clara River Trail

Location:
Runs E/W


EAST SEGMENT
From Lost Canyon Road to Soledad Canyon Road near Camp Plenty Road in Canyon Country along north bank of the Santa Clara River.


WEST SEGMENT
From the Santa Clarita Metrolink Station west to the South Fork Trail along the south bank of the Santa Clara River. Santa Clara River Trail begins again at McBean Parkway extending west another 1/2 mile terminating near Edison Curve, with no access to Magic Mountain Parkway.

NORTH SEGMENT (not shown on map)
From McBean Parkway east to Bouquet Canyon Road along north bank of the Santa Clara River. East end runs partially along Bouquet Creek.

This trail is easily accessible. It also makes a great bypass of the business district of Canyon Country by taking it instead of Soledad Canyon Road. Watch for increased pedestrian traffic along eastern trail segment.

Grade Separated Intersections:
SR-14 (Antelope Valley Freeway - No Access), Sierra Highway, Whites Canyon Road, Soledad Canyon Road, Bouquet Canyon Road, Valencia Blvd., McBean Parkway

At-Grade Intersections:
Lost Canyon Road (east end), Nugget Drive (side exit), Soledad Canyon Road (side exit), Auto Center Drive

Future Plans:
Extension west following the Santa Clara River from near Edison Curve to I-5 via the former SP Montalvo Branch railroad bridge. The eastern segment is planned to be extended west from Camp Plenty Road along the north side of the river to a point 2 miles west and east from Lost Canyon Road along the north bank of the river to Shadow Pines Blvd (near Tick Canyon Creek).

Facilities along Route:
Parking is available at Lost Canyon Road and at the Commuter Rail Trail junction. Benches are available at Mint Canyon Creek. Water is available at the Commuter Rail Trail junction (Camp Plenty Road).

South Fork Trail

Location:
Runs N/S along the west bank of the South Fork Santa Clara River from Newhall at Orchard Village Road north to the Santa Clara River Trail in Saugus. Connects with paseos and Santa Clara River Trail. Distance:
3.4 miles

Grade Separated Intersections:
McBean Parkway (end), Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia Blvd, Via Princessa (spur to Circle J Ranch Park)

At-Grade Intersections:
(end) Orchard Village Road, Newhall Avenue (spur), Wiley Canyon Road (side exit)

Future Plans:
Extension from Orchard Village Road to Towsley Canyon Park via South Fork Santa Clara River.

Facilities along Route:
Parking is available at Magic Mountain Parkway (SR-126).
