You may visit for Six Flags Magic Mountain, but consider extending your stay to experience our wonderful (free!) summer concerts, beautiful outdoors, historical sites (including Tesoro Adobe Park, Wm. S. Hart Museum, and remnants of the famous St. Francis Dam). Stroll through Valencia Town Center and enjoy dining alfresco and sipping wine on the patio.
There are just over 1600 hotel rooms in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Santa Clarita Valley is approximately 200 square miles, with the City of Santa Clarita encompassing approximately one third of the valley. All Santa Clarita Valley hotels are within easy access of Six Flags Magic Mountain, if you are driving your own vehicle. If you will be utilizing public transportation, please visit the City of Santa Clarita's transit page specific to getting to Magic Mountain. During peak summer hours, the City of Santa Clarita has
been known to run the The Hometown Trolley, which runs between select hotels and Six Flags Magic Mountain. Check their website to find a current operating schedule or call 661- 294-1BUS (1287) for details.
A tip from the locals: Six Flags is located in Valencia along Hwy. 5. Hotels most convenient to Six Flags will be located in Valencia, Stevenson Ranch or Santa Clarita. Castaic is also convenient, about three miles north on I-5. (An alternate route is along the Old Road.) If you choose to stay anywhere else in Los Angeles, be aware that Los Angeles has very heavy traffic. You'd hate to waste your vacation time parked on a freeway!
Other things you should know about Santa Clarita: It can get very hot in late August and September in Santa Clarita, so if you're heading out, freeze your water bottles to provide cold water for several hours. (Remember to let out some of the water to avoid breakage during the expansion caused by freezing.) Summer concerts typically begin in June and run through the end of August. They are popular with locals, so plan to arrive early for the best parking. Be sure to include a visit to
the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, which hosts celebrities including Three Dog Night, Michael Bolton, David Burnham, and Vicki Lawrence.
