A tip from the locals: Six Flags is located in Valencia along Hwy. 5. Hotels most convenient to Six Flags will be located in Valencia,
Stevenson Ranch or Santa Clarita. Castaic is also convenient, about three miles north on I-5. (An alternate route is along the Old Road.)
If you choose to stay anywhere else in Los Angeles, be aware that Los Angeles has very heavy traffic. You'd hate to waste your vacation time
parked on a freeway!
Other things you should know about Santa Clarita: It can get very hot in late August and September in Santa Clarita, so if you're heading out,
freeze your water bottles to provide cold water for several hours. (Remember to let out some of the water to avoid breakage during the expansion
caused by freezing.) Summer concerts typically begin in June and run through the end of August. They are popular with locals, so plan to arrive early for the best parking. Be sure to include a visit to
the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, which hosts celebrities including Three Dog Night, Michael Bolton, David Burnham, and Vicki Lawrence.
