CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
661-259-CITY (2489)
The City of Santa Clarita encompasses just over 52 square miles of the approximately 200-square mile Santa Clarita Valley. While city ordinances apply, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department provides law enforcement to the entire Santa Clarita Valley.

Safest City Status
This status belongs to the City of Santa Clarita, not the entire Santa Clarita Valley. The city encompasses 56.8 square miles, while the valley is roughly 200 square miles. Therefore, the crime statistics for the remaining 153 square miles of unincorporated areas do not factor into this 'safest city' status. You may view crime statistics for the Santa Clarita Valley here.

COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
Residents who live outside of the city limits are governed by the ordinances of Los Angeles County.
