Major Events in Santa Clarita

While there are many amazing reasons to visit Santa Clarita, timing a trip to Santa Clarita around one of these great events would provide you with selfie opportunities worthy of envy!

Ongoing

Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center
Big names and performances are drawn to the 7,500-square foot proscenium stage with a state-of-the-art sound system. The 886-seat center is just large enough to attract quality acts yet small enough so there isn't a bad seat in the house.

Thursdays at Newhall
As part of the transformation of Old Town Newhall the City puts on (free) events that seem to bring the entire valley out to party! From dances and performances to car shows, there's usually something going on Thursday nights in Old Town Newhall.
24500 Main St, Santa Clarita

Annual

Cowboy Festival
This isn't country--it's cowboy! Held each Spring, typically in April, you'll find genuine cowboys telling stories, cooking grub, playing music and more. Many activities for the whole family to enjoy. When available, the event is held at Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio, but may also be held in the heart of Santa Clarita Valley's "cowboy country", Old Town Newhall.
24500 Main St, Santa Clarita

Easter Events
There are multiple events in Santa Clarita to celebrate Easter including the memorable sunrise performance re-creating the historical day Christ rose from the dead. Held at Vasquez Rocks, the play is timed to correlate Christ's resurrection with the sunrise.
10700 Escondido Canyon Rd, Agua Dulce (Vasquez Rocks)

Egg hunts also abound including the City's Eggstravaganza and Splash and Dash Egg Hunt.

Splash and Dash Egg Hunt
20850 Centre Pointe Pkwy, Santa Clarita (Santa Clarita Aquatics Center)

Eggstravaganza
27150 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita (Central Park)

Please visit our Calendar of Events for additional egg hunts and celebrations throughout SCV.

Summer Concerts
In addition to the Thursday evening evenings, outdoor concerts are held on Friday and Saturday evenings and are free to the public. Pack a picnic, grab a meal at one of our fine restaurants, or perhaps a food truck. Great for a date night or family fun night.
Locations vary.

4th of July Fireworks
We know how to celebrate our nation's independence! We begin the day with an old-fashioned pancake breakfast and parade in Old Town Newhall and finish the celebration with fireworks in Valencia, put on by the City of Santa Clarita.

PowWow and Native American Craft Fair
Santa Clarita celebrates the importance Native Americans played in our history at this event, which typically takes place in September. You'll be immersed in their culture through dance, music, food and crafts.
24151 Newhall Ave, Newhall (William S. Hart Regional Park)

Halloween
In addition to Six Flag's Fright Fest, you'll find multiple private haunts set up around Santa Clarita. The Sherriff's station entertains kids with the Haunted Jailhouse and Tesoro Adobe Historic Park opens for a family-friendly haunted tour. Fall Festivals, Trunk or Treats, a pumpkin patch and an underwater pumpkin carving contest are all part of the fun! Within an hour's drive from SCV you can ride the haunted train or take a ride to the pumpkin patch or take an outdoor Ghostwalk.
Locations vary

Christmas
You haven't seen Christmas lights if you've not toured the Santa Clarita neighborhoods! There are at least seven neighborhoods where you'll want to park your car and walk to see all of the displays. We provide a map, and it'll take you at least three nights to visit them all!

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting takes place in Old Town Newhall, the local theatre group always puts on a nostalgic play, the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center offers a variety of holiday-themed entertainment, Six Flags hosts Holiday in the Park, and the local churches offer Christian performances and Christmas Eve/Day services. At the heart of Santa Clarita is a small town, with Christmas parades, a Gingerbread house contest, an ice rink, Festival of Trees, "snow" days, and breakfast with Santa. If you have some extra time, take the train to pick out a Christmas tree or just enjoy the sites.

Plan your Christmas in Santa Clarita for special family memories!
