Disney's Hollywood Studios Florida
A Great Destination for a Multi-Generational Family Vacation!
Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage
Disney World's captivating Hollywood Studios is updated and improved. Family travel enthusiasts, the O'Brien Crew, comprising two parents, six kids
spanning ages from sixteen to four, and two young at heart grandparents enjoyed touring the park. We explored the new rides, took in a few shows,
and were thoroughly entertained. During our visit we focused on finding fun for everyone in our group. This was no small feat for 10 people at
different ages and stages!
The grandparents enjoyed two remarkable shows. Beauty and the Beast and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular had new choreography elements that engaged
the audience. Tip: We found that Fast Passes for shows are not helpful because there is always room. But, you will definitely want them for the rides
and interactive attractions.
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!
Disney's Hollywood Studios is not the largest Disney park. However, it is a nice break from all the walking you have to do at some of the larger parks.
It is a great park to go to the second day of your family's Disney trip. Everyone in our group felt that we were able to see and do everything that
was on our list to do in Hollywood Studios in just one day.
Our two teenagers loved the Aerosmith attraction, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Actually, Mom did too! The ride on the coaster feels super-fast, but it is
also super smooth. There are no gut wrenching drops, only fast turns, corkscrew maneuvers, and an upside down loop. It's a ride worth doing twice.
Star Wars Launch Bay
Our two young boys (Logan, eleven, and Liam, six) were struck with awe at the many Star Wars attractions. Disney Hollywood Studios has really worked
hard to AWAKEN park guests Star Wars experience. After taking in the Star Wars live show Liam exclaimed, "It was so cool to see my favorite Star Wars
guys in real life!" Don't miss the live show on the Center Stage. Also be on the lookout for Clone Troopers and other characters walking on the streets
and interacting with the crowds. If you plan in advance your child can participate in a special Jedi Training experience. This is something they will
not soon forget. Sean (Dad) loved the updated Star Tours -- The Adventure Continues attraction. He was blown away at the old movie posters that were on
display. There is also an area to view actual spaceship models used during filming. It's a Star Wars fan's dream come true.
Caitlin is nine years old and felt like a champion by conquering her fears through riding The Tower of Terror. In a nostalgic tone, Mom said, "It was
awesome to be able to share the thrills and belly laughs of our family's favorite ride with yet another child."
Toy Story Mania!
Tip: We suggest riding The Tower of
Terror at night. Once at the precipice of the ride, you can see the lights of several Disney parks and even catch a glimpse of fireworks if you time
things right. This definitely adds to the experience.
Our littlest, Genevieve, who is five years old, was mesmerized during the new Frozen: For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.
To be honest, all 10 of us sung our hearts out to our favorite Frozen songs! The Toy Story Mania attraction was a blast for everyone. We giggled as
we moved through the interactive ride targeting elements from the Toy Story movies. It was fun to challenge each other to achieve the ultimate high
score. Tip: Toy Story Mania is a great ride for a Fast Pass or to go on just before closing. Otherwise, the wait time at this fun ride can get long.
Also, it is the most fun to have only two riders per car, that way each person can operate their own pop cannon.
Nighttime Spectacular Fantasmic!
For a magical ending to a fantastic day, we sat in awe during the Fantasmic live show. Everyone in our party who have toured other Disney Parks and
sat through the evening shows felt that Fantasmic show at Disney's Hollywood Studios outdid them all. We were tempted to call it a day and skip the
show, but we were so thankful we didn't. Fantasmic is well worth it--even if kiddos are super tired. The incredible sights and sounds included live
acting, an engaging story plot, singing, lights, lasers, boats, pyrotechnics, and fireworks! The O'Brien Crew all agree, "Fantasmic is Disney Park's
BEST evening show hands down!"
Disney's updated Hollywood Studios was a huge hit with our hard-to-please crew so we know it will be a huge hit for your crew too!
